Girl/woman. 23. Originally from Leicester in the East Midlands. Freelance travel writer who specialises in the unusual, the road less travelled, countries and regions no-one else goes to. I have lived in four countries, the UK for most of my life, Houston, Texas from 1997-1999 when I was 8, Mérida, Venezuela for 2 months in 2010, and Salamanca, Spain from October 2010 to the present day. Countries visited total as of July 2011 is 47 and counting.
I Graduated from King’s College London with a BA in Classical Studies in 2009. I took a gap year afterwards to go travelling and hoped to fill this site with tales of my travels through South and Central America. Unfortunately I ended up breaking my leg in two places whilst on a Jungle Trek in Ecuador.
I returned undeterred and enrolled in a Travel Writing course at City Lit University, London whilst my bones recovered.
Started travelling again in May 2010 and visited 11 countries in South and Central America before returning mid-September. The beginning of October I made the bold, and last minute decision to move to Spain, initially for 3 months, but ended up staying almost a whole year. I have been studying Spanish and am now fluent, and have also been working as an English Teacher. I have a second, bilingual blog which you can find here: http://elespanglish.blogspot.com/
I am now attempting to revitalise my blog, which has carried on steadily gaining hits, even though I neglected it for almost an entire year. My list of published pieces is very small, but here they are:
